Before the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine was growing in acceptance and popularity. A 2018 survey by Deloitte found that almost a quarter of US consumers have had a telehealth visit with a clinician. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there's been a marked increase in that level of acceptance.
In this episode of Tech Talk, three telemedicine experts share their insights into the telemedicine industry. All share their experience navigating the rapid acceleration of the industry amidst the coronavirus pandemic, while explaining their unique perspectives on different aspects of telemedicine and patient care, including the importance of and disparities in digital literacy.
Lisa Di Enno, MD, FAAP is Chief Medical Officer at XpertCare Inc. XpertCare is a telemedicine company that provides pediatric virtual urgent care. Dr. Di Enno is a board-certified general pediatrician with over five years of clinical experience caring for the children of our military’s active-duty personnel. Howard Reis is the CEO of The TeleDentists. The only nationwide network of dentists, The TeleDentists provide video consultations for patients with dental emergencies. Howard has always worked at the intersection of the healthcare and telecommunications industries.
